Job summary

BCB Group in London is seeking a data engineer to own the modern data stack and transform complex data into actionable insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, model data workflows, and develop dbt models against BigQuery to enable data-driven decisions.

You will implement rigorous testing, CI/CD, and documentation while leveraging AI tools to accelerate development and ensure data quality. A hybrid work arrangement is available, with strong growth potential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a high-growth data environment (Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or Technical Data Analyst).
• Deep, practical knowledge of dbt and cloud warehouses (BigQuery).
• Expert-level SQL: complex, clean, and performant queries.
• Python literacy: scripting for data manipulation and API handling.
• AI comfort: using AI tools to accelerate development and documentation.
• Ownership mindset: able to work independently and take accountability.
• Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the Modern Data Stack (dbt & BigQuery) and lead our dbt project.
• Build modular, well-tested models transforming data into a reliable source of truth.
• Apply software engineering rigor: Git, docs, unit tests, CI/CD.
• Collaborate with business leads to streamline manual processes via data automation.
• Bridge the warehouse and business, driving data-enabled decision making.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and improve data quality.
