Job summary

Hackajob Ltd. is seeking a data-focused engineer in Leeds to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines.

You will automate end-to-end workflows for ingestion, testing, deployment, and monitoring, collaborating with data squads to ensure teams have the data they need to build products. Key responsibilities include evolving model-serving infrastructure for latency, scalability, and cost, and monitoring data drift and production metrics with observability tools.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills and experience with Snowflake and dbt
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration tools such as Airflow or Astronomer
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitHub Actions
• Experience with data quality and observability platforms such as Soda.io or BigEye
• Understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as New Relic or Grafana
• Analytical and curious, with a willingness to learn new tools and techniques and challenge the status quo
• Preferred: Experience deploying data pipelines in production environments
• Preferred: Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

Responsibilities

• Work with our data squads to ensure teams have the data they need to build products
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines using CI/CD
• Automate end-to-end workflows for data ingestion, testing, deployment, and monitoring
• Optimize model-serving infrastructure for latency, scalability, and cost
• Build infrastructure to monitor model performance, data drift, and other production metrics
