Job summary

Hackajob Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior Developer to join the Business Intelligence Systems (BIS) team as we transition from legacy architectures to a modern, cloud-first data ecosystem.

You will work with stakeholders across Finance, Product, Marketing, and Contact Centre to design, build, and support data solutions, using Azure tools, Databricks, and Power BI to deliver value and scalable pipelines.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python proficiency.
• Hands-on Azure Data Lake and Databricks experience.
• Ability to build data pipelines with Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and API integrations.
• Power BI or similar reporting tools proficiency.
• Strong English communication and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
• Mentor developers and support pair programming.
• Desirable: PySpark or PySQL experience.
• Desirable: Dimensional modelling and data warehousing knowledge.
• Desirable: SQL Server SSAS Tabular and DAX.
• Desirable: SQL Server RDBMS and Managed Instance familiarity.
• Desirable: Azure Event Hubs or Active Batch exposure.
• Desirable: Interest in applying AI/ML to real-world data problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop data solutions using data, analytics, and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with Finance, Product, Marketing, and Contact Centre to design and support data solutions.
• Utilise Azure tools, Databricks, and Power BI to streamline workflows and deliver value.
• Create product-team data solutions including cost efficiency and data security controls.
• Support data ingestion pathways and implement data compliance measures.
• Improve internal workflows for efficiency and stability.
• Provide guidance to less experienced developers and support pair programming.
