Job summary

Rightmove is seeking an analytics engineer to own data models and the semantic layer across our cloud data stack. You’ll collaborate with data engineers, analysts and product teams to deliver trusted data assets on dbt and BigQuery, enabling self‑serve analytics for business units.

The role requires 3–5 years of production‑grade experience, strong SQL in BigQuery, and a passion for data quality, documentation and scalable analytics. Hybrid work with 2 days in the office.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in analytics engineering or data modelling.
• Proficient with dbt and modular data modelling.
• Strong SQL skills with BigQuery; knowledge of Looker LookML.

Responsibilities

• Model, build, and productionise robust data assets using dbt and BigQuery
• Maintain and evolve the semantic layer in Looker to support self-serve analytics
• Ensure data is transformed, tested, and high quality before downstream consumption
• Collaborate with analysts, product managers, engineers to deliver data models
• Document and expose data assets clearly
• Apply engineering best practices across analytics codebases
• Maintain the data catalogue and source of truth for analytics
• Analyse workflows and work with data engineers to improve performance
• Identify opportunities to reduce complexity and cost across the data platform
• Participate in agile ceremonies
