The Team

The Analytics Engineering team is a key part of the broader Data Team within the Technology division. We’re growing and excited to welcome a new Analytics Engineer to join us! Our mission is to transform data into actionable insights, empowering analytics, product, finance, and risk teams to extract the value and information they need.

The Role

At Zopa, we’re committed to leverage data to make smarter decisions for our customers. As an Analytics Engineer, you’ll dive into your domain, build a deep understanding of the data, and create high-quality data products. These products will be well-structured, reliable, and incorporate robust controls and quality checks using our selected tools.

In line with Zopa’s strong focus on autonomy and empowerment, you’ll take ownership of the daily operation of our data marts. This includes resolving issues, escalating when necessary, and ensuring smooth operations. Beyond technical responsibilities, you’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders to share your data knowledge and expertise. Additionally, you’ll support the team by conducting code reviews and validating data, ensuring our work meets the highest standards.

This role offers a dynamic environment where you can make a real impact while contributing to a culture of excellence and collaboration.


Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to transform raw data into actionable insights
  • Build and optimize data models for scalability and performance in tools like dbt
  • Collaborate with analysts and product teams to deliver reliable datasets for reporting and analysis
  • Monitor and improve data quality using validation frameworks. Proactively identify data issues and offer practical solutions
  • Document workflows, models, and data standards to ensure alignment across teams
Experience
  • Experience in a similar analytics engineeringrole
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data warehouses (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery)
  • Proficiency with dbt or similar data transformation tools
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker) for creating reports and dashboards
  • Knowledge of data governance and best practices for data security
  • Clear and concise communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and curiosity to find the edge cases in data that might impact its use
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Embraces new technologies and stays updated with the latest trends and tools in data analytics and engineering
Nice to haves
  • Experience with Python or Airflow
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows

Towards the end of 2025 Zopa will be relocating to a brand-new headquarters at 20 Water Street in Canary Wharf. The 44,000 square foot workspace will foster collaboration and inspire creativity for our 900 employees amidst our 2025 growth blitz.
