Atomic Weapons Establishment is recruiting a Technologist in the Metals and Tritium Group, based on-site at Aldermaston. You will develop capabilities, operate equipment and support the weapon programme at the component and material level.

The role requires hands-on analytical laboratory experience, strong data interpretation, and the ability to work within regulatory standards. A British citizen with UK residency is required for security clearance; the position offers a 9-day fortnight and

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' relevant working experience.
• Hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory.
• Experience calibrating, commissioning, validating and maintaining analytical instrumentation.
• Ability to review and assure technical documentation and sampling plans.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples using wet chemistry techniques.
• Perform chemical analysis with various instruments.
• Review SOPs and support procedure development and compliance.
• Calibrate and operate analytical instrumentation.
• Process, interpret and report data to required quality standards.
