Pertemps Bond is seeking an Analytical Services Manager in South Yorkshire to lead a four-person laboratory team, oversee analytical testing and provide technical support to customers. You will balance people management with hands-on science in a role focused on safe, accurate and reliable services.

The ideal candidate will have a chemistry degree, 5+ years in gas analysis and proven team leadership, with GC/FTIR proficiency and ISO/IEC 17025/ISO 9001 experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or equivalent qualification.
• 5+ years of relevant technical industry experience in gas analysis or related field.
• Experience directly managing a team.
• Knowledge of GC and FTIR analytical techniques.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025; GMP experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate data into decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel to company and customer sites; driving licence.

Responsabilités

• Manage day-to-day laboratory operations, prioritising testing and resources.
• Lead, develop and support a four-person team; oversee training and performance.
• Oversee analytical method development, validation and equipment performance.
• Maintain quality systems and procedures supporting ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO 9001.
• Support internal and external audits, proficiency tests and management reviews.
• Investigate product quality concerns and equipment failures; identify root causes.
• Provide technical support at sites and occasional out-of-hours support.
• Manage departmental budgets, purchasing and continuous improvement.
• Maintain high safety standards via risk assessments and inspections.
