Job summary

Walker Cole International is seeking an Analytical Development Chemist to join its R&D team. You will develop, optimise and pre-validate methods for APIs and related materials, with emphasis on amorphous solid dispersions, using HPLC, UHPLC and GC.

Qualifications

• A degree (BSc/MSc/PhD) in Chemistry or related field.
• Proven experience in analytical method development.
• Hands-on skills with HPLC, UHPLC and/or GC.
• Knowledge of cGMP and ICH guidelines.
• UK work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Developing, optimising and pre-validating methods for APIs, polymers, intermediates, raw materials and drug products (especially amorphous solid dispersions)
• Working mainly with HPLC, UHPLC and GC, plus hyphenated techniques like LC-MS and GC-MS
• Supporting method transfers and troubleshooting across internal and client-facing projects
• Writing method protocols and technical reports, working closely with Quality and Manufacturing to fit methods into GMP workflows
• Training up on a wider range of techniques, including FT-IR, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer and NMR

Walker Cole are supporting a fast growing, innovative CDMO working in the development and manufacturing of new APIs and drug products, from early-stage research through to commercial supply. It's a hands-on close knit team that thoroughly invests in its employees. Due to their continued growth they're looking for an Analytical Development Chemist to join their R&D team.

Responsibilities

• Developing, optimising and pre-validating methods for APIs, polymers, intermediates, raw materials and drug products (especially amorphous solid dispersions)
• Working mainly with HPLC, UHPLC and GC, plus hyphenated techniques like LC-MS and GC-MS
• Supporting method transfers and troubleshooting across internal and client-facing projects
• Writing method protocols and technical reports, working closely with Quality and Manufacturing to fit methods into GMP workflows

What You’ll Need

• A BSc, MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or similar (or extensive industry experience)
• Proven experience in analytical method development
• Strong hands-on skills with HPLC, UHPLC and/or GC
• Knowledge of cGMP, ICH guidelines and API release testing
• Pharma or CDMO experience is a bonus, not essential
• The right to work in the UK
