Purpose of Job

The Analyst is a junior financial markets professional who will assist the Portfolio Management EMEA team with data reporting while building their knowledge of and assisting in the management of the Bank’s local currency market FX, interest rate, and liquidity risks.

Given the strategic importance of local currency financing for EBRD, this role is key to helping the Portfolio Management EMEA team report both internally and externally on local currency activity, as well as supporting the team’s day-to-day work.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily portfolio management operations as required.
  • Support the team by developing, improving (including automating where possible), and maintaining risk and other reports from various sources to support daily operations and reporting.
  • Run daily and ad-hoc reports and analyze data as needed.
  • Assist in tracking relevant developments in local currency markets.
  • Contribute to expanding the framework for managing the local currency funding and lending book.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Interest in financial markets demonstrated through relevant education or work experience.
  • Strong analytical skills to derive insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to build relationships, credibility, and trust quickly.
  • Proactive problem-solving approach, asking insightful questions to understand deeper issues.
  • Numerical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Ability to work independently, recognize when to escalate issues, and seek solutions.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Proficiency in Excel (including VBA) and system interfaces.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English; Russian language is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of a second language relevant to EBRD’s Countries of Operation is highly desirable.
