Contract: Permanent

At Southern Water, we're transforming the way we work to deliver better outcomes for our customers, communities, and the environment. As we continue our transformation journey, we're looking for a talented and inquisitive Analyst to join our growing team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, working with data, and influencing business decisions through insight. You'll play a key role in supporting transformation, digital innovation, process improvement, and change initiatives that drive real value across the organisation.

Whether you're analysing performance data, building business cases, supporting strategic projects, or identifying opportunities for automation and improvement, your work will directly contribute to shaping the future of Southern Water.

What You'll Be Doing

As an Analyst, you'll work across a wide range of transformation and improvement programmes, partnering with stakeholders to understand challenges, uncover opportunities, and support the delivery of sustainable business change.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Analysing business processes, systems, operational performance, and data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Gathering, documenting, and validating business requirements and translating them into meaningful solutions.
  • Producing high-quality reports, dashboards, presentations, and visualisations that support effective decision-making.
  • Supporting the development of business cases, financial models, cost-benefit analyses, and investment proposals.
  • Tracking and reporting the benefits realised from transformation initiatives.
  • Supporting project governance, reporting, performance monitoring, and programme controls.
  • Facilitating stakeholder workshops, interviews, and engagement activities.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through process improvement, automation, digital solutions, and AI-enabled technologies.
  • Supporting the successful delivery and embedment of business change across the organisation.
What We’re Looking For

You'll be a naturally curious and analytical thinker with a passion for understanding how businesses operate and how they can improve.

You'll bring:
  • Experience in business analysis, data analysis, project support, continuous improvement, or transformation environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex information
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Experience using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint, and other reporting solutions
  • Knowledge of process mapping, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement techniques
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to turn data into meaningful business insight
Desirable Experience

We'd particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience in:

  • Utilities, infrastructure, engineering, or other regulated environments
  • Business analysis methodologies and tools
  • Financial modelling, investment cases, and benefits realisation
  • Digital transformation, automation workflow technologies, or AI-enabled solutions
  • Supporting large-scale change or transformation programmes

You'll join a collaborative and supportive team where innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development are genuinely encouraged. You'll gain exposure to high-profile initiatives, work with stakeholders across the business, and help deliver improvements that make a lasting difference.
