Penguin Recruitment is partnering with a well-established UKAS-accredited asbestos consultancy in Chelmsford to recruit an Asbestos Analyst. You will deliver analytical services across client sites in Essex and surrounding areas, joining a team with a structured workload and strong managerial support.

The role requires BOHS P403/P404 qualifications, a background as an Asbestos Analyst, and a solid understanding of HSG248 and current legislation.

Qualifications

• BOHS P403 and P404 qualifications (essential)
• Previous experience working as an Asbestos Analyst
• Strong understanding of HSG248 and current asbestos legislation
• Experience working within a UKAS-accredited consultancy is desirable
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent communication, organisational, and report-writing skills
• Professional, reliable, and quality-focused approach to work

Responsibilities

• Undertaking four-stage clearances in accordance with HSG248
• Carrying out background, reassurance, personal, and leak air monitoring
• Conducting smoke testing where required
• Producing accurate and compliant analytical reports
• Liaising professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams
• Managing your own workload and daily schedule efficiently
• Ensuring all work complies with current asbestos legislation, HSE guidance, and UKAS procedures

THE ROLE

As an Asbestos Analyst, you will be responsible for delivering a range of asbestos analytical services across client sites throughout Essex and the surrounding areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Undertaking four-stage clearances in accordance with HSG248
