Basildon University Hospital is seeking a locum Anaesthetic Nurse to join our theatre team. Flexible shifts are available, with weekday hours from 08:00 to 18:00 across Basildon Hospital.

You will work within a dynamic theatre environment, supporting anaesthetic care and patient safety. Applicants must be HCPC registered with at least 1 year post-graduate experience and at least 6 months of UK experience in the last 3 years.

Qualifications

• Current HCPC registration.
• At least 1 year post-graduate experience.
• 6 months UK experience within the last 3 years.

Responsabilités

• Identify, prepare and assemble equipment for the operating list.
• Prepare and organise the clinical area for elective, emergency and trauma procedures.
• Support patients and families, communicating clinical information clearly.
• Contribute to patient care development in theatres.
• Demonstrate clinical assessment and prioritise care during anaesthetic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• To safely identify, prepare, check and assemble equipment required for the relevant operating list.
• Prepare and organise the clinical area to receive patients for elective, emergency, and trauma procedures.
• Actively support patients and their families, communicating clinical information using various methods to ensure effective understanding.
• Contribute to the continuing development of patient care within the operating theatres, e.g. through sharing knowledge and expertise as required.
• Demonstrate and develop clinical assessment skills and prioritise the care for patients undergoing a surgical / anaesthetic procedure.

Essential Qualifications:

• Current HCPC registration
• At least 1 years’ post-graduate experience.
• 6 months recent UK experience within the last 3 years
