Job summary

Dentons is seeking a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract to support the AML Operations Manager and Global Head of AML and Sanctions Compliance in implementing the firm-wide AML and sanctions programme. The role involves conducting Client Due Diligence and advising on risk issues and regulatory compliance.

You will assess client matters for AML and sanctions risk, assist with sanctions screening and ongoing monitoring, and liaise with partners on AML issues as part of a busy professional services

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher degree in a relevant field.
• 1-2 years of legal or compliance experience in a law firm or professional services.
• Strong research skills across relevant sources and IT tools.
• Solid knowledge of compliance rules including client care, conflicts, confidentiality, anti-bribery, money laundering and sanctions.
• Ability to assemble research and produce clear, accurate findings.
• Ability to analyse issues and draw succinct conclusions; draft emails clearly.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking and handling all types of Client Due Diligence (CDD).
• Review and assess risks of new clients and matters from AML, sanctions and reputational perspectives.
• Carry out client and matter risk assessments and sanctions screening updates.
• Assist with ongoing monitoring of clients and matters and advise on risk issues.
• Provide a liaison service to partners on AML and sanctions matters; engage with clients directly.
