Job summary

AJ FOX COMPLIANCE in Edinburgh is seeking an AML Analyst to support compliance with Anti‑Money Laundering Regulations, review client due diligence, monitor client account funds and advise colleagues on effective compliance procedures.

The role calls for an analytical, methodical professional with experience in a commercial, legal, banking or financial environment and strong communication skills. You will handle identity checks, sanctions and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• Analytical, methodical professional with experience in commercial, legal, banking or financial environments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review client due diligence to ensure AML compliance.
• Challenge incomplete or inadequate information and liaise with fee earners to obtain responses.
• Process and respond to due diligence forms and emails for AML team.
• Report clients without appropriate due diligence and assist colleagues in obtaining required information.
• Provide practical guidance on client due diligence requirements.
• Undertake identity verification, sanctions, PEP and adverse media checks.
• Monitor funds in the client account and assess source legitimacy.
• Escalate unusual activity to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer and resolve queries.
• Prepare and review client and matter risk assessments.
• Assist with AML policies, controls and procedures.
• Manage client and matter information on the practice management system.
