Job summary

South Central Fleet Services Ltd, the NHS fleet arm, is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Fleet Engineer - Mobile for the Aylesbury workshop. You will maintain ambulances and specialist vehicles, ensuring high availability and safety on and off the road.

The role involves a shift rota including weekends and bank holidays, with full-time hours. We value organised, proactive technicians with a strong hand in vehicle maintenance and repairs, ready to support the ambulance service with reliable,

Qualifications

• Relevant workshop experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Proven ability to work methodically and safely in a workshop environment.
• Experience with ambulances or fleet vehicles is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and repairs of ambulances and other vehicles to SCFS standards.
• Attend breakdown scenes for repairs when required.
• Prepare new vehicles for service and old vehicles for disposal.
• Maintain records of maintenance and repairs.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and security procedures.
• Attend training courses related to vehicles and equipment.
• Make repair decisions in the absence of the Fleet Supervisor.
• Participate in Duty Mechanic standby rota.
• Contribute to income generation related to fleet maintenance operations.
