Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a confident and experienced HLTA to join a mainstream primary school in Romford. The post involves supporting pupils across year groups and delivering planned activities when needed.

The ideal candidate has HLTA or teaching assistant experience in primary settings, a solid grasp of the primary curriculum, and strong classroom management. This is a full-time position with ongoing support from your Protocol Education consultant.

Qualifications

• Experience as HLTA or Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Proven ability to lead lessons or manage groups.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Supporting teaching and learning across different primary year groups, adapting activities to meet the needs of individual pupils.
• Taking responsibility for classes and delivering lessons or planned activities in the absence of the class teacher.
• Working with class teachers to support planning, preparation and assessment.
• Providing targeted support to pupils who may require additional help with their learning.
• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment.
• Supporting pupils with SEN where required.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff and the wider school team.
• Helping to create an engaging, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
