Job summary

Sharp Consultancy is seeking an ambitious Assistant Finance Manager for a York based role. You will lead management accounting, budgeting and forecasting, with exposure to financial reporting, business partnering and performance analysis.

The role reports to the Financial Controller and offers opportunities to develop junior staff, drive process improvements, and take ownership of key areas within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Fully Qualified (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with relevant experience in management accounting or commercial finance.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review monthly management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and cash flow projections.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes and statutory reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and post month-end adjustments.
• Provide financial insights to operational and commercial teams to support decision-making.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements.
