Job summary

HRGO-recruited Laser Punch Operator role in Slough, England. You will operate an Amada Laser Punch on a busy shop floor, producing high-quality sheet metal components to drawings and ensuring safe workshop practices.

The position offers day, late or night shifts with flexible start times. Applicants must have proven Amada Laser Punch experience and be able to read engineering drawings and CNC programmes. UK right to work is required.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Amada Laser Punch machines.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes and tooling.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and CNC programmes.
• Competent in basic machine setup, tool changes and minor troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program and operate Amada Laser Punch equipment for sheet metal production runs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, nesting plans and work orders accurately.
• Load tooling, fixtures and materials; adjust machine parameters for material type and thickness.
• Monitor production for quality; perform in-process inspections and final checks.
• Carry out basic preventative maintenance and routine cleaning of machines.
• Report faults and work with maintenance to resolve issues quickly to minimise downtime.
• Maintain accurate production records, timesheets and material usage logs.
• Follow health & safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
