Job description

About ARU:

ARU is a global university transforming lives through innovative, inclusive and entrepreneurial education and research. ARU holds a Gold award for the quality of its education, awarded through the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
ARU's research institutes and four faculties bridge scientific, technical and creative fields. We deliver impactful research which tackles pressing issues and makes a real difference to our communities. Our academic excellence has been recognised by the UK's Higher Education funding bodies, with 16 of our research areas assessed as world leading. We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK's leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

About the Role:

ARU's Alumni team is responsible for growing and engaging our diverse global community of graduates. The post-holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality alumni relations activity that supports and grows the engagement of this community. The Alumni Officer will coordinate communications, events and volunteering; maintain accurate alumni records; support our annual Alumni Awards programme and Honorary Awardee activity; and deliver a programme of outreach to recent graduates for the Graduate Outcomes Survey.

We are looking for a proactive and adaptable individual with experience working in a role that has honed your written and verbal communications skills, whether this is in an alumni or supporter relations role, or in broader communications, events or stakeholder engagement positions. Experience of using a CRM (such as Raiser's Edge) is also required. You will have excellent attention to detail, both when working with data and in written communications to our alumni and stakeholders.

The post-holder will have the opportunity to organise events, work with colleagues across ARU, and be a first point of contact for alumni who get in touch with us. You must be highly organised, and it is important that you can develop and maintain relationships with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds. It is a varied role in a friendly, small team, where creativity and new ideas are welcomed.
