Job summary

The Centre School, part of Astrea Academy Trust, seeks an exceptional Alternative Provision Manager to coordinate provision for vulnerable students, ensuring safeguarding and strong family engagement. You will lead placements, develop education plans, and monitor impact across partnerships.

The role requires 37 hours per week, term-time only, with start ASAP and a closing date of 22 November 2026. Demonstrated resilience and organisation are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting vulnerable children and families.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and implementation.
• Ability to work with multi‑agency partners.
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication with families, staff and external providers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee alternative provision placements and personalised timetables for identified students.
• Develop, review, and monitor individual education plans to ensure provision remains effective and impactful.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, carers, external providers, and partner agencies.
• Monitor the quality and effectiveness of alternative provision through visits, reviews, and stakeholder feedback.
• Work alongside senior leaders to improve attendance, engagement, and educational outcomes for vulnerable learners.
• Support safeguarding and early help processes, acting as a key link between families, school staff, and external professionals.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to student welfare, provision, and progress.
• Monitor provision-related expenditure and contribute to strategic planning to ensure resources are used effectively.
