Elementa Wales is seeking an ALN Teacher to work with schools across Monmouth. You will plan and deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with additional learning needs, creating a positive, inclusive classroom and providing personalised support to help each pupil reach their potential.

Requirements include QTS recognised in Wales, experience with ALN, and strong classroom management and communication. Flexible/full-time/part-time roles available across Monmouthshire with competitive daily

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet individual needs of learners with ALN.
• Support pupils with a range of ALN, including autism, ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and school staff to support pupil progress.
• Monitor and assess pupil development, contributing to IDPs where appropriate.

About the role

Elementa Wales is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teacher to work with schools across Monmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and adaptable teacher who is committed to supporting pupils with additional learning needs and making a positive impact on their educational journey.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with a range of additional learning needs. You will create a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring pupils receive high-quality education, individualised support and opportunities to achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively, creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of learners with ALN.
• Support pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD and social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, ALNCOs and other school staff to support pupil progress.
• Monitor and assess pupil development, contributing to Individual Development Plans (IDPs) where appropriate.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) recognised in Wales.
• Experience teaching or supporting pupils with additional learning needs.
• A sound understanding of inclusive teaching practices and the ALN framework in Wales.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• A patient, positive, flexible and professional approach.

Desirable:

• Experience working in specialist ALN settings, SEND schools or alternative provision (beneficial but not essential).
• Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
