Job summary

TeacherActive are recruiting a qualified ALN Teacher (QTS) for a full-time, long-term position in a welcoming secondary school in Caerphilly. The role offers potential permanency, supporting inclusive education across Caerphilly and surrounding areas.

You will deliver differentiated lessons, support students with ASD/ADHD/SEMH, and develop IDPs within the ALN framework. Collaboration with TAs, SENCOs and external professionals is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required.
• Experience with ALN/SEN students in a school or specialist setting.
• Understanding of the ALN Code for Wales is desirable.
• Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• A patient, empathetic, and adaptable teaching approach.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for ALN students.
• Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions.
• Develop, implement, and review IDPs (Individual Development Plans).
• Monitor progress and adapt strategies as needed.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external agencies.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures.
