Job description

The Ewelme Almshouse Charity is seeking a part-time Warden to safeguard the welfare and independence of its residents, manage its three sites and nurture the health and wellbeing of its almshouse community. We are looking for a people‑person, someone who is compassionate, and attuned to the particular needs of older people. The ability to drive is essential as our Warden is responsible for almshouses in Ewelme, Oxfordshire and Marsh Gibbon, Buckinghamshire.

The successful applicant will:

  • Have direct experience of working with older people, preferably in a similar environment
  • Have experience of residential site management
  • Be able to promote resident wellbeing and independence
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrable ability to empathise with others
  • Be able to work on their own initiative, as well as being a key part of a small team
  • Have a clean driving licence, own a car, and be willing to travel between our almshouse locations.
