Job summary

The TJX Companies, Inc. in Watford invites you to join the Merchandising and Buying Development Programme (MBDP) as an Allocation Analyst. You’ll gain hands-on experience from day one, building relationships across the business and learning how Merchandising and Buying work together to deliver value to customers.

The programme has two intakes: February or July 2027, with a 12-week induction and training, and exposure to multiple product areas in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in any subject area.
• Fluent in English; additional European language skills and/or cultural awareness are advantageous.
• Analytical and data-driven: comfortable with numbers and Excel; interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
• Commercially minded: curious about retail and consumer behaviour, able to identify opportunities and think strategically.
• Collaborative and relationship-focused: a strong communicator who builds trust, shares ideas, influences others, and thrives in a team.
• Ambitious and adaptable: takes initiative, learns from mistakes, and responds positively to change in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Kick-start your Merchandising career at our European HQ with a 12-week induction and training program to understand the partnership between Merchandising and Buying.
• Take on the Allocation Analyst role, distributing products across stores for your department while working closely with Buyers.
• Develop analytical skills by analysing sales trends, inventory levels, and demand forecasts, gaining hands-on commercial experience.
