Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking passionate SEND Learning Support Assistants to join all-through schools across Harrow and Brent. You will support pupils with PMLD, ASD and complex needs, both learning and personal care, in a highly inclusive environment.

Candidates should be confident, caring and able to work within a multidisciplinary team to help each pupil achieve individual goals. This is a full-time role in all-through SEND settings.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND.
• Experience with PMLD, ASD, or complex needs.
• Experience in education, care, support or health settings with children or adults.
• Ability to support learning, communication, personal care and emotional wellbeing.
• Patience, compassion, resilience and ability to build positive relationships.
• Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team and contribute to individual learning plans.
• Commitment to a safe, positive, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups across classrooms and school.
• Assist pupils with learning, communication, social development and independence.
• Provide personal care and mobility support as required.
• Supervise pupils inside and outside the classroom and during activities.
• Support lessons, breaks, lunchtimes and school activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and pupil confidence.
• Work with teachers and the SEND team to implement plans.
• Assist with lesson prep and personalised learning programmes.
• Follow individual pupil support plans and contribute to development.
• Create a nurturing, structured and inclusive environment.
