Job summary

RJC Group in the United Kingdom is seeking an experienced Algo Trading Engineer to join a newly established team building next-generation technology for electronic and algorithmic trading across European energy markets.

You will design and implement a cross-asset algorithmic execution framework, develop a real-time backtesting environment, and integrate market data feeds and execution gateways while collaborating with traders, quants and developers to deliver production-ready systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ hands-on experience in electronic trading, ideally within energy, commodities or cross-asset algorithmic trading.
• Experience designing and implementing pricing, risk and order management systems in real-time, event-driven environments.
• Strong understanding of event-stream sequencing and experience supporting electronic pricing or execution platforms.
• Strong software engineering skills across APIs, market data feeds and execution gateways.

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing a cross-asset algorithmic execution framework for power, gas and related products.
• Building a real-time backtesting and simulation environment based on event-stream sequencing.
• Integrating market data, vendor execution APIs and, over time, direct market connectivity.
• Developing UI components and monitoring tools for algo oversight, order placement, market interaction and real-time risk management.
• Working closely with traders, quants, embedded developers and technology teams to turn ideas into robust production systems.
