Morgan Hunt UK Ltd is recruiting an Alcohol Recovery Worker in Stourbridge, West Midlands, on a maternity cover assignment. The role involves one-to-one recovery support, safeguarding, and helping service users access treatment.

The position offers 37.5 hours per week, an hourly rate up to £22 (umbrella), and a short-term contract of around five months.

Knowledge of substance misuse and compassionate, non-judgemental approach are valued; training and support are provided.

Qualifications

• Understanding of substance misuse and the challenges faced by individuals accessing support.
• Experience in key working, support work or a similar person-centred role.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and risk assessments.
• Strong communication, engagement and motivational skills.
• Compassionate, non-judgemental approach.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-to-one key work and recovery support to individuals affected by substance misuse.
• Support service users to achieve personalised recovery goals.
• Conduct risk assessments and maintain accurate case notes.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and identify potential risks.
• Support individuals to access appropriate treatment and recovery services.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and partner agencies.

We're recruiting for an

Alcohol Recovery Worker to join a substance misuse charity in Stourbridge on a 5-month maternity cover assignment.

The service is open to candidates without direct alcohol recovery experience, recognising the challenges of recruiting locally. If you have a good understanding of substance misuse, key working and safeguarding, this could be a great opportunity to develop your experience, with training and support available.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing one-to-one key work and recovery support to individuals affected by substance misuse.
• Supporting service users to achieve personalised recovery goals.
• Conducting risk assessments and maintaining accurate case notes.
• Following safeguarding procedures and identifying potential risks.
• Supporting individuals to access appropriate treatment and recovery services.

What We're Looking For

Knowledge of detox eligibility, referral pathways and wider treatment options would be an advantage, but

direct alcohol recovery experience is not essential.
