Job summary

Menzies Aviation is seeking a reliable Bag Runner to support baggage handling at our Edinburgh airport operations. You will transport, sort, and deliver passenger baggage across terminals, coordinating with airline staff to maintain on-time service and safety standards.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to work in varying weather, and a commitment to safety and security. Prior airline baggage experience is preferred, and a high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry baggage and equipment, frequently up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and airport environments.
• Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug tests.
• Previous airline or baggage handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport baggage between terminals, baggage claim areas, and aircraft staging areas.
• Assist with locating, recovering, and delivering delayed or priority baggage.
• Coordinate with airline staff and airport personnel on baggage movement priorities.
• Load, unload, and organize baggage carts and equipment safely.
• Verify baggage tags and routing details for accurate delivery.
• Respond to urgent baggage requests and time-sensitive transfers.
• Maintain documentation related to baggage transfers and discrepancies.
• Follow all safety and security procedures.
• Inspect carts and equipment and report issues.
• Maintain professional appearance and courteous service to passengers.
