Job summary

Belcan is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our Airframe Engineering team in Preston, supporting one of the UK's leading aerospace programmes on a 12-month contract. You will provide day-to-day engineering support on the aircraft build line, resolve production issues and contribute to concession waivers and design assurance activities to ensure airworthiness.

The role requires collaboration with design, manufacturing, quality and production teams, creation and review

Qualifications

Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments and ability to support the aircraft build line.
Ability to carry out concession/waiver assessments and design assurance activities.
Understanding of design change processes and configuration control.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day engineering support to the aircraft build line.
Investigate and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.
Assess/conduct concessions, waivers and non-conformance queries.
Support Design Assurance activities to ensure design intent and certification.
Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality and production teams to deliver robust solutions.
Create and review engineering documentation and BOMs.
Work with metallic/composite structures through installation, assembly and modification.
Perform root cause investigations to minimise disruption.
Drive continuous improvement in production processes.
