Job summary

WSP is hiring an Aerodrome Safety & Compliance Specialist to lead safety assurance, manage regulatory compliance across aviation infrastructure programmes, and act as the key interface between stakeholders and regulators. You will ensure safety is integrated throughout project delivery and coordinate Safety Case development with operational teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience within aviation and/or aerodrome environments.
• Developing, reviewing, or managing Safety Cases and operational safety assessments.
• Working knowledge of CAA regulations, publications, and aviation safety standards.
• Application of Safety Management Systems (SMS) and safety assurance principles.
• Implementing aviation regulatory approvals, submissions, and consultations.
• Working collaboratively with operational stakeholders, designers, engineers, contractors, and regulators.
• Undertaking hazard identification, risk assessment, and assurance activities.
• Leading safety reviews, workshops, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Degree qualified in related aviation discipline; or demonstrable equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety assurance activities and coordinate Safety Case development.
• Coordinate airfield operational change and ensure SMS-compliant processes.
• Coordinate regulatory submissions and engagement with aviation authorities.
• Promote a positive safety culture across programmes and teams.
• Support emergency planning, resilience activities, and incident investigations.
