Job summary

2Excel Group is seeking an Airfield Operations Manager to take ownership of the safe, secure and compliant management of airfield activities. The role leads on regulatory compliance, security, emergency response capability, fire crew provision and fuel operations to ensure ALARP risk management and readiness.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of airfield operations and safety.
• Experience with risk assessments, hazard reporting and audits.
• Knowledge of UK aviation regulations, CAA guidance and Safety Management Systems.
• Experience overseeing security, incident response and business continuity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and control aircraft movements across the airfield.
• Monitor airfield infrastructure and operating surfaces, liaising with aviation partners.
• Manage operational risk assessments, reporting processes and internal audits.
• Chair Airfield Safety Meetings and drive continuous safety improvements.
• Support the delivery and assurance of effective site-wide security arrangements.
• Ensure security policies, procedures and response measures remain effective.
• Manage fire crew capability, ensuring personnel, equipment and records are ready.
• Coordinate responses to aviation emergencies and investigations.
• Maintain oversight of fuelling and defuelling activities and training.
