Job summary

Serco is recruiting for hands-on engineers at RAF Brize Norton to support the structural integrity and serviceability of C-17 aircraft. You will perform structural assessments, repairs, and fabrication work in both workshop and on‑aircraft environments.

The role includes a two-week specialist aircraft structural hand-skills course followed by on‑the‑job training to develop riveting, sheet metal work and fabrication expertise, with opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Experience or qualifications in mechanical/engineering disciplines relevant to aircraft environments.
• Hands-on engineering role supporting structural integrity, reliability, and serviceability of aircraft.
• Specialist two-week aircraft structural hand-skills course and on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural and mechanical assessments, damage evaluations, and fault finding.
• Perform engineering repairs, including component changes and structural restoration.
• Operate workshop machinery and fabrication equipment.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
• Maintain full traceability through engineering documentation.
• Ensure compliance with airworthiness standards.
