Due to continued growth, a fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Aircraft Simulation Engineer (L3) to join the multi-disciplinary and dynamic Realtime Software Simulation (RSS) Group, based at our Crawley hub.

The RSS Group comprises of the following technical areas: - Avionics Systems, Environment System, Aircraft Systems, Fly By Wire Systems and Flight. The engineers in the team are highly passionate individuals from multi-cultural backgrounds who make up a very dynamic and engaging environment to work in. Engineering problem solving is a key day-to-day activity that can be taking place locally in the UK or in a location around the globe.

This position is best suited to highly motivated individuals who can work under minimal supervision and integrate well in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment, which focuses on continuous improvement of our processes, products and customer deliveries.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

  • You will be responsible for the software design/modification using appropriate software languages
  • You will support integration and testing, fault finding and problem rectification on systems that reside with your responsibility
  • You will play an integral role in the full lifecycle from technical bidding and requirements analysis through to customer acceptance and post-delivery customer.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in one or more of the following areas
    • Air conditioning and pressurisation
    • Electrical power
    • Fire protection
    • Fuel system
    • Ice and rain protection
    • Gear and brakes
    • Oxygen
    • Pneumatics
    • Auxiliary Power Unit
    • Doors
    • Engines
    • Experience in real time software programming and integration
    • An individual with drive, enthusiasm and can-do attitude coupled with the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team
    • Demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised
    • Strong verbal, presentation, written communication and inter-personal skills
    • An appropriate engineering degree or equivalent (with mathematics, science or engineering content) experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Experience in development lifecycles, systems engineering, formal testing, and verification & validation.
  • Experience of Git software version control systems
