Job description

Job Summary

Due to an exciting period of growth, we are now seeking a number of certified Aircraft Fitters to join our Defence manufacturing facilities on the Isle of Wight.

Responsibilities
  • Work on aircraft main and sub-assemblies, following technical data and competencies, using appropriate tools and fixtures.
  • Read and understand drawings, processes, and procedures to meet regulatory quality standards and customer specifications, working with both Composite and Metallic structures.
  • Perform tasks to high standards, ensuring safety and quality, and report issues immediately.
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Understand and contribute to team KPIs related to People, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cash, and Cost.
  • Obtain Lean Foundation certification and implement at least one Kaizen per month.
  • Support problem-solving efforts and contribute ideas based on experience.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and support a positive team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including company policies and export controls.
Qualifications
  • Experience as an aircraft fitter, supported by 2-4 years of apprenticeship and relevant certifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong pride in quality work, collaborative attitude, effective communication skills, and safety focus.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
Additional Notes

This position requires UK National Security Vetting (UKNSV) Security clearance (SC). Applicants must typically have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years.
