We are looking to recruit an experienced Aircraft Technician for a permanent role with our client based in St Athan, South Wales.
Role Summary:
You will apply your aircraft expertise to oversee and perform all maintenance activities, both scheduled and unscheduled, in line with our customers' operational
Main responsibilities:
- Perform aircraft maintenance in accordance with customer requirements and defined Lists of Work.
- Adhere to Company procedures and Human Factors principles, ensuring the use of correctly maintained, uniquely identified personal tools, Company tooling, and calibrated test equipment.
- Manage effective internal and external relationships with customers, team members, and support departments, while actively mentoring and developing colleagues.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation and forms are accurately completed and submitted before the end of the shift, in full compliance with MOE Part 2 and Company procedures.
- Promptly notify Engineers of any issues that may impact safety, productivity, or the progress of work.
- Accountability for safety & efficiency improvements with hanger maintenance and general tasks.
- Process and return any unused materials to Stores as soon as practicable, ensuring correct disposal procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain proper storage, blanking, labelling, and protection of aircraft components and tooling in accordance with Company procedures.
- Uphold standard engineering practices related to workplace organisation, cleanliness, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention.
- Identify and recommend improvements to working conditions, practices, and procedures to enhance safety, efficiency, and productivity.
- Assist with hangar facility maintenance and general operational tasks as required.
- Perform any other duties reasonably requested in support of business needs.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
- Proven track record, typically achieved with 3 years minimum experience in aviation maintenance (including time served during an apprenticeship) within a Part 145 organisation.
- Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation, including the Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives.
- Demonstrates a broad skill-set in maintaining aircraft systems including rigging, component replacement, and modification embodiment.
Essential Knowledge
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding of aircraft system(s).
- Good structural knowledge including ability to carry out structural repairs.
Qualifications and training
Essential
- Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in aviation or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 5 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grade C or above including Maths and English Language.
- Initial Human Factors, EWIS & Fuel Tank Safety.
Desirable
B1 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Licence:
UK CAA AML or EASA AML issued pre 31/12/2020; or
UK CAA AML & EASA AML issued post 31/12/2020.Aircraft type course on any of the following:
- B737NG
- B737CL
- B757
- B767
- A320 family
