Job summary

NATS is the UK’s leading air navigation service provider, responsible for safeguarding the skies and maintaining critical ATS assets. This role provides immediate engineering response within an airport environment to faults and planned maintenance support of ATS equipment, and may involve supervision of contractors.

Qualifications

• Professional engineering qualification at Higher National Certificate (Level 4) or SQF Level 7 in Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science or related discipline
• Alternative criteria include substantial experience in safety-critical environments such as ATSEP and related maintenance

Responsibilities

• Duty Engineering Officer on shift and lead 1st level maintenance and restoration of ATS assets
• Prioritise faults and direct resources to restore service safely and quickly
• Maintain competency ratings and provide guidance and specialist advice to management and customers
• Supervise watch-keeping staff and contractors and ensure compliance with the NMS and safety procedures
• Plan and control planned maintenance and long-term fault tracking across multiple airports
• Drive company vehicles as required and operate within local procedures and agreements
