Job summary

NATS is the UK’s leading air navigation service provider, delivering engineering support at airports across the UK. The role focuses on immediate fault response, maintenance of ATS assets, and supervision of contractors within a safety-critical environment.

The candidate must possess a Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering field or demonstrate substantial transferable experience in safety-critical maintenance, with valid UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Professional engineering qualification to Higher National Certificate (Level 4) or SQF Level 7 in Electronics, Telecommunications or Computer Science or another relevant discipline.
• Alternative: relevant lower-level engineering qualifications (Apprenticeship) with demonstrable experience.
• Alternative: substantial experience in a relevant transferable environment (e.g., ATSEP) and maintenance engineering on similar equipment.

Responsibilities

• Act as Duty Engineering Officer on shift and lead 1st-level maintenance activities.
• Prioritise faults and coordinate resources to restore service safely and quickly.
• Maintain records for activities and ensure compliance with Safety Management procedures.
• Supervise staff and contractors to ensure adherence to procedures and competence standards.
• Participate in planned maintenance, on-call shifts, and potential relocation to other airports as needed.
