Air Operations Specialist Aerospace - Days

Our well-known client based in Hayes is offering a Day shift from 7am to 7pm, working 4 days on and 4 days off. The role is fully office-based with a salary of £31K-£33K plus shift pay (approximately £3K per annum).

Job Overview: As an ILS Import Operations Specialist, you will utilize your skills to develop innovative solutions and shape the future of our business. Join a dynamic team supporting the Life Science Sector at the London Station.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to Customs Compliance procedures and documentation.
2. Manage and build customer relationships.
3. Complete retrospective Customs compliance actions.
4. Handle customs entry for specialist license movements.
5. Ensure the Job File is fully and accurately completed with all relevant commercial information.
6. Liaise with Carriers and Handling Agents to resolve exceptions and discrepancies.
7. Coordinate shipment planning with other departments, Transport & Warehouse teams, and overseas offices.
8. Maintain and update DfT compliance.
9. Update milestones and remarks in Cargowise (internal system).
10. Manage allocated customers according to SOP.
11. Use Cargowise to manage airfreight shipments.
12. Update the Internal Complaint Tool with root causes and solutions.
13. Support KPI measurement and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
14. Participate in weekly team briefings and complete mandatory training.
15. Perform any other duties as required.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in the Freight Forwarding Industry.
• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English at Grade C or above, or equivalent.
• Experience with HMRC procedures.
• Commercial awareness.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Ability to follow established processes.
• Supportive of continuous improvement culture.
• Interpersonal skills including influencing, relationship management, and cultural awareness.
• Knowledge of export processes within the Freight Forwarding industry.
