Job summary

Yusen Logistics is seeking an Air Export Operator for our Staines site. You will manage end-to-end air export shipments, coordinating with airlines, handling agents, hauliers and customers to ensure accurate and timely movement of freight.

The role requires knowledge of export documentation, customs declarations, and strong customer service skills. Salary ranges £34,000–£37,000 depending on experience, with a Monday–Friday pattern.

Responsibilities

• Manage air export shipments from booking through to departure and post-flight completion.
• Coordinate with airlines, handling agents, hauliers, customers, and overseas offices to ensure smooth shipment execution.
• Accurately prepare and issue all export documentation, including MAWB, HAWB, manifests, labels, and supporting shipping documents.
• Complete export customs declarations using CargoWise in accordance with HMRC requirements, customer instructions, and company procedures.
• Obtain competitive carrier rates and prepare customer quotations using Cargo One.
• Identify opportunities to improve shipment profitability and margin performance
• Ensure all customer enquiries, requests, and concerns are managed professionally and within agreed timescales.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through proactive communication and service delivery.

In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end coordination of air export shipments, ensuring the smooth, accurate, and timely movement of freight while adhering to company procedures, customer requirements, and industry regulations. This is a full- time permanent role based at our Staines Site (TW18 3BA) The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30. Offering a salary of £34,000 to £37,000 per annum depending on experience.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Experience in CargoWise and Cargo one advantageous but not essential
• Proven knowledge of air export operations
• Export customs understanding.
• Customer service and stakeholder management.
• Experience in handling healthcare/pharmaceutical shipments would be advantageous.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Time management and prioritisation.
• Communication and problem-solving skills.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
