Job description

We are looking for a full-time Air Conditioning Engineer to join our growing team of service engineers. You’ll be working alongside our other service engineers across a large number of our commercial clients in the Northwest.

This is a fully mobile role and requires a full UK driving licence.

This role supports the effective, efficient, and safe delivery of our client services by attending client sites to conduct planned and reactive maintenance.

Thermatic Technical FM provides nationwide coverage across the full spectrum of Hard FM services to large, commercial clients. Our mobile engineers are supported by our account teams at Head Office to deliver reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services.

Hours & Location of Work:

Main location- this is a fully mobile role covering the Northwest and surrounding regions

Regular hours of work- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm - 40-hour workweek. Out of hours maintenance may be required, including early starts, late finishes, and night works.

On Call- includes a 24-hour rota on a maximum 1 week in 4 schedule (Friday-Thursday)

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

• Experience with Air Conditioning & Refrigeration equipment (VRVs, VRFs, Splits, Chillers)
• FGAS Cat 1
• NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
• Knowledge of Building Regulations
• Understanding of Building Environmental and Electrical Services
• Health & Safety compliance experience
• Basic plumbing and building materials skills
• Asbestos Awareness

Desirable:

• IPAF & PASMA
• Part P Electrical certification

Responsibilities include:

• Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of air conditioning and refrigeration systems
• Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance
• Providing accurate timesheet information
• Supporting team members and acting as second-man when needed
• Participating in the 24-hour on-call rota
• Attending team meetings and briefings
• Supporting contract SLAs by timely client site attendance
• Maintaining positive client relationships
• Assisting with quotations and producing reports
• Escalating major issues appropriately
• Training and upskilling junior engineers
