Job summary

Edge Hill University seeks an Academic Lead for Artificial Intelligence to provide strategic academic leadership for the university's AI Strategy across education, research, innovation and operations.

You will champion responsible and human-centred AI use, lead the AI Strategy Delivery Group, and work with faculties, professional services and students to deliver cross-cutting priorities, policy development, and staff development tied to AI.

Qualifications

• Significant academic leadership experience within higher education.
• Experience leading strategic change initiatives.
• Experience in learning, teaching and curriculum enhancement.
• Demonstrable knowledge of artificial intelligence and its implications for higher education.
• Understanding of academic integrity and assessment design in an AI-enabled environment.
• Knowledge of ethical, legal, accessibility, privacy and governance issues relating to AI.

Responsibilities

• Chair the AI Strategy Delivery Group and drive its practical implementation.
• Coordinate with Faculties, Professional Services and students to support innovation and student success.
• Strengthen academic practice and enhance organisational capability for responsible AI adoption.
