Job summary

SMBC Group in the United Kingdom is expanding its AI & Innovation team within Architecture & Engineering to lead end-to-end AI solution design from use case intake to delivery. The role combines hands-on architecture with prototyping, validation and productionisation across the enterprise tech stack.

You will work with business and tech stakeholders to ensure designs meet security, data privacy and regulatory requirements, while driving adoption and governance through SDA processes.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of AI and generative AI solution architectures incl. LLMs and enterprise integration.
• Experience applying RAG, knowledge grounding and human-in-the-loop design patterns.
• Design secure AI solutions with guardrails, governance and explainability.
• Proven ownership from requirements to production deployment in regulated environments.
• Hands-on solution architecture across enterprise tech stacks with cross-technology design.
• Experience with enterprise AI platforms (Copilot, Azure AI, Power Platform) across multiple techs.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of AI solutions from intake to production deployment.
• Translate requirements into end-to-end architectures aligned to the tech stack.
• Design and implement AI solutions across enterprise platforms (Copilot, Azure AI, Power Platform).
• Lead SDA governance, drive approvals and ensure compliance with security and privacy requirements.
• Prepare architecture artefacts, design documents and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with business, technology, architecture and risk teams to resolve design challenges.
