Job summary

Financial Conduct Authority is seeking a Senior AI Security Consultant to act as the organisation’s AI security SME. You will lead threat modelling, risk assessments and security testing for AI systems, advising across business, technology and governance functions.

The role focuses on building frameworks, standards and practical risk controls to support secure AI adoption. You will work with SE&A and cross-disciplinary teams, shaping policy, providing leadership, and mentoring colleagues to

Qualifications

• Experience in cyber security, architecture, consultancy, or risk management with AI security knowledge.
• Ability to assess AI security risks across generative AI and related ecosystems.
• Experience developing security frameworks and governance models, familiar with AI security standards (OWASP LLM Top 10, NIST AI RMF, ISO 27001).

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative AI security knowledge to support risk-informed decision-making.
• Conduct AI threat modelling, risk assessments, and security design activities.
• Oversee AI security reviews, control validation and testing.
• Develop and improve AI security frameworks, standards and policies.
• Lead as FCA AI security subject matter authority and advocate for best practices.
• Build AI security capability via stakeholder engagement and knowledge sharing.
• Manage shifting priorities and respond within SLAs while maintaining service standards.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to SE&A team.
• Support SE&A Manager in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
