Job summary

ElevenLabs, an AI research and product company based in London, is seeking a Data Scientist to own datasets and evaluation workflows for AI safety. You’ll turn real-world product data into reliable datasets for training and evaluating models, and build scalable data processes with engineers.

You’ll collaborate with safety researchers, policy specialists, and engineers to translate complex safety guidelines into practical data systems, labelling, and quality standards that scale across teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Scientist or similar with real-world datasets and ML models.
• Strong grasp of building high-quality datasets: collection, cleaning, sampling, labeling, QC, evaluation.
• Proficiency with Python and SQL for analysis and practical data workflows.
• Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and ability to translate guidelines into scalable decisions.
• Autonomous, clear communicator able to work across policy, engineering and research.

Responsibilities

• Own safety datasets end-to-end: collection, cleaning, labeling, quality control, versioning and readiness for training/evaluation.
• Translate safety policy into labeling/evaluation criteria in collaboration with policy specialists.
• Design and manage labeling processes, onboarding external contributors to high quality standards.
• Build evaluation workflows for production models using real-world data to track performance.
• Develop lightweight Python/SQL pipelines and tooling with ML engineers to define training-ready data.
