Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced AI Research Lead to drive engineering simulation initiatives. You will lead R&D at the intersection of AI, ML, LLMs, VLMs and multimodal AI, translating academic insights into scalable production solutions for complex mechanical engineering problems.

The role bridges research and industry, guiding design, evaluation, and deployment of AI-enabled simulation capabilities and Digital Twin development across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Experience applying AI/ML to engineering and simulation problems.
• Experience leading research programmes and validation studies.
• Strong background in mechanical engineering, simulation, or computational modelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D activities at the intersection of AI, simulation and mechanical engineering.
• Develop AI-enabled engineering simulation capabilities.
• Support Digital Twin development and deployment.
• Apply ML techniques to improve simulation accuracy and efficiency.
• Bridge research and production deployment of advanced modelling solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, systems and software teams.
