Job summary

Liverpool John Moores University invites applications for a Research Associate in Artificial Intelligence to join the AI and Digital Technologies Research Institute (AIDTRI). The role involves conducting high-quality AI research, analysing large multimodal datasets, and collaborating with partners to advance funded projects.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD (or be close to submission) in a relevant field, with strong Python/R skills and the ability to publish and present findings.

Qualifications

• PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or related discipline, or have submitted thesis and awaiting viva.
• Experience conducting and publishing high-quality AI research; strong knowledge of AI algorithms.
• Programming experience in Python, R or similar; excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively; experience with large AI problems and novel AI methods would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research in AI and Data Science.
• Analyse large, multimodal datasets and develop/evaluate AI methods.
• Collaborate with internal and external research partners and contribute to funding applications.
• Prepare research papers and conference contributions; support research management within AIDTRI.
