You will lead independent projects in evaluation methodologies, alignment techniques, and synthetic data generation, designing frameworks that enhance how AI systems are understood, evaluated, and optimized. Collaborating with engineers, data scientists, and product teams, you will turn research discoveries into practical solutions that advance AI reliability and alignment. You will also contribute to the academic community through publications and open‑source work, shaping the field while working in a dynamic, mission‑driven environment that prioritizes innovation, ethical AI, and human‑centered data.

Accountabilities
  • Lead independent AI research projects focused on evaluation methodologies, alignment techniques, and synthetic data generation.
  • Design and implement robust evaluation frameworks for large language models (LLMs) and agent systems grounded in human data.
  • Conduct rigorous experiments and develop scalable tools to translate research insights into practical applications.
  • Build infrastructure to support large‑scale research experiments and advanced AI model studies.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including ML engineers, data scientists, and product managers to integrate research outcomes.
  • Mentor team members on advanced AI concepts and emerging research directions.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to diverse stakeholders and contribute to academic publications and open‑source projects.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with a strong AI/ML focus.
  • Demonstrated research experience via publications, open‑source contributions, or impactful projects.
  • Solid engineering fundamentals and experience implementing AI systems in production.
  • Deep knowledge of LLM evaluation methodologies, alignment techniques, and model optimization approaches.
  • Hands‑on experience with model fine‑tuning, adapters, quantization, and distillation frameworks.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to define and pursue research directions independently.
  • Strong understanding of AI safety, reliability, and alignment challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex research concepts clearly.
