Job summary

Currys is seeking a data-focused professional for a 12-month FTC role at Waterloo with hybrid working. You will audit commercial data sources, define data points, and guide AI readiness within the Commercial Transformation programme.

You will engage cross-functional stakeholders, articulate specifications, and shape the future data platform in Azure Databricks to support trusted analytics and reporting across the business.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of retail commercial operations.
• Proven experience auditing and rationalising complex, multi-source commercial data landscapes.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align multiple teams around a shared data strategy.
• Ability to work at pace within a fixed timeframe, prioritising foundational work over full-scope delivery.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a full audit of all commercial data sources currently in use across the business.
• Identify reporting gaps, inconsistencies, and duplicated or localised reporting practices.
• Engage stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, and Group Data to capture priorities and requirements.
• Agree exact, consistent data points required across the business.
• Own the definitions and arbitrate decisions through the build, unblock issues, and check each delivered dataset against its specification.
• Create a full specification for the commercial reporting suite.
• Produce high-level dashboard requirements to guide future build.
• Create a phased, actionable AI roadmap aligned to the wider Commercial Transformation programme.
• Work closely with Commercial, Finance, and Group Data teams to ensure alignment and buy-in.
• Maintain clear boundaries of scope - this role is not responsible for building data pipelines, reporting suites or deploying AI tools.
