Job summary

Currys plc is seeking a 12 Month FTC, Full Time role in Waterloo with hybrid working to lead foundational commercial data work. You will audit data sources, define data points, and own the specifications for the reporting suite, aligning with AI readiness and the wider transformation program.

You’ll collaborate with Commercial, Finance and Group Data teams to ensure buy-in, define dashboards, and prepare the business to leverage AI capabilities across datasets.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of retail commercial operations including the roles, processes and functions of a retailer (Essential)
• Proven experience auditing and rationalising complex, multi-source commercial data landscapes
• Strong working knowledge of Databricks, Unity Catalog, medallion architecture and modern data pipeline approaches
• Understanding of how to structure, catalogue and govern data so it is ready to be consumed by AI and analytics tools
• Experience defining reporting suite specifications and dashboard requirements in a commercial or retail context
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align multiple teams (Commercial, Finance, Group Data) around a shared data strategy
• Ability to work at pace within a fixed timeframe, prioritising "no-regrets" foundational work over full-scope delivery
• Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders for directional sign-off
• Experience working within large-scale commercial transformation programmes is highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Audit all commercial data sources in use across the business
• Identify reporting gaps and inconsistencies
• Engage stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, Group Data
• Capture priorities and requirements
• Agree exact data points across the business
• Own definitions and arbitrate decisions through builds
• Create a full specification for the commercial reporting suite
• Produce high-level dashboard requirements for future build
• Create a phased AI readiness roadmap
• Work with Commercial, Finance, Group Data to ensure alignment
• Maintain scope boundaries; not building pipelines or AI tools
