Job summary

Schroders, a global investment manager, is seeking a Software Engineer for the Public Markets Investment Platform. You will build scalable Python-based solutions using cloud-native technologies (AWS/Azure), collaborate with portfolio managers and data teams, and contribute to analytics workflows in a fast-paced, finance-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years python software development experience in a professional environment
• Experience building software solutions inregulated industries
• Experience with both SQL and NoSQL database platforms
• Understanding of the built-in Python libraries as well as commonly used third‑party packages
• Understanding of data structures and common data transformation methodologies
• Experience contributing to large-scale, efficient and performant analytics workflows, including ETL, orchestration, and distributed compute, using industry-standard libraries such as Pandas, Polars, and Dask.
• Experience working in a modern software engineering environment leveraging Agile (Scrum), DevSecOps methodologies, CI/CD workflows, and tools including Git and GitHub
• Experience working with agentic development tools in a professional environment
• Ability to deal credibly with business and technical users at all levels of the organisation.

Responsibilities

• Write clean Python code to build reusable components and packages
• Work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure to build cloud-first solutions
• Refine the existing platform and products in response to business needs
• Work with business users to co-create maintainable Python code
• Coach and develop more junior team members, ensuring that best practices and methodologies are followed.
